New year means new reading challenge here on Goodreads. While my challenge is small compared to some, 75 books, any book I read from here on has some BIG shoes to fill.
True fact…I was obsessed with the show Lost one year. I even had a boyfriend at the time complain I watched it more than hanging with him. We broke up soon after so luckily I was able to get back to watching a show about an island with smoke monsters.
This book caught my eye I admit, because I saw the word “island”. I went in with little hope that anything could entrance me as much as Lost did. I was wrong.
This book…OMG…straight to my all time favorites. The story of a woman with amnesia has been done. And done again. This time it was done RIGHT. I was so engaged in this amazingly beautiful written, atmospheric and haunting book. And that twist…
Did NOT see that coming! I thought it was going in a totally different direction. The book is told from different characters POV, mostly, Eloise and Lochlan’s, and has flashbacks as well, giving it a total Lost feel to it. I am still in just complete and utter awe of this book that had me thinking it was like Semi spoiler using movie references (Invitation, The Beach, Shutter Island, Identity, and Split) all in one.
